PROSPECTING FOR GOLD BOOK
 |
- How does gold get out there for us to pan?
|
- How does gold move to form rich pockets
for panners?
|
- Is there new equipment to help recover gold?
|
- Am I doing things that reduce my gold recovery?
|
While standing in gold country, it helps
to figure out where the gold should be. Knowing
how gold forms, and especially how it moves,
is very important to a successful day of
panning, sluicing, dredging or nugget hunting
with a detector.
Don't give up because the best looking spot
you could find was cleaned out yesterday
by some other lucky prospector. There is
never just one good spot and gold concentrations
are continually being moved by the forces
of nature. Take many samples in different
locations.
Not everything you have heard a hundred times
is necessarily true or helpful.
- Gold does not float down the middle of the
stream.
- A gold magnet might actually cause you to
lose some of your gold.
Finding where the gold is can be almost
as exciting as recovering it with a pan,
sluice, dredge or detector.
One reader reported...."I bought your book yesterday. I
read it before going to bed and I have read
it two more times today. I will read it again before I go to bed tonight. Each time
I read it, I learn something else."
