SOLVING THE PROBLEMS OF A ROUND GOLD PAN
Faster processing of gravels: If all you want is fresh air and good exercise,
round pans are inexpensive and they come
in many sizes and many colors.
If you want to bring home more gold each
time you go out, you must process more gravel.
The Grizzly Pan will process 5-10 times as
much gravel as a round pan and it requires
less energy to operate.
When using almost any gold pan, it takes
only a few minutes to shake the gold to the
bottom of the pan. 75% to 85% of panning
time is used up trying to wash waste gravel
off the top so that you can recover your
gold concentrates from the bottom of the
pan.
When the gold gets to the bottom of a round
pan, your work has just begun. When the gold
gets to the bottom of your Grizzly Pan, you
are finished with panning. The gold concentrates
can be removed through the bottom plug without
wasting time washing gravel off the top.
When you shake gold to the bottom of the
Grizzly Pan, it is all confined in a very
small "concentrating cavity". With
four side walls and no bottom, the gold can't
go anywhere else.
It is best to run 5 gallons or more of gravel
through the Grizzly Pan before removing concentrates.
You will get more gold with each clean up.
Safer Recovery of fine gold: 98% of all gold found in panning will pass
through the holes in your window screen.
The curved surfaces of a round pan create
turbulence which can cause fine gold to be
thrown out of the pan.
The two flat sides of the Grizzly Pan cause
the water to flow smoothly, back and forth
in the pan like the smooth laminar flow in
a sluice. There is practically no turbulence
to cause you to lose fine gold. All gold
sinks quickly toward the bottom "concentrating
cavity" where it can easily be removed
through the bottom plug.
Easier to learn: There are world championships for gold panning
because there is so much skill involved with
using a round pan. It takes years to get
good and fast without losing your gold.
There are no special skills required with
the Grizzly Pan because there is only one
motion to use from start to finish. "Hold
the pan level and alternate moving it left
and right as though you were sliding it across
a table top". Even a child can be an
expert in minutes and there is very little
risk of losing your fine gold.
| IMPORTANT OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS |
Do not use the Grizzly pan by sitting it
on a firm surface and rocking it like a baby's
cradle. The sand in the bottom will move
very little or not at all. Unless the sand
is moving freely in the water, gold cannot
work its way downward to the concentrating
cavity.
Always shake the entire pan from left to
right and back while keeping the top of the
pan relatively level. This motion will ensure
that the sand in the bottom is moving just
like the sand on the surface. Gold will be
able to migrate downward to the concentrating
cavity.
